Officers say they followed Michael Nolan to the courthouse parking lot after it was reported he smelled like alcohol.

FREEPORT - A Freeport man is facing DWI charges and is accused of showing up in court to answer the charges while under the influence.

Newsday is reporting that Michael Nolan, who has already been convicted of DWI, showed up in a Nassau courtroom yesterday intoxicated.

Officers followed Nolan to a parking lot after it was reported he smelled like alcohol.

Nolan was arrested on new DWI charges when he tried to drive out of the parking lot.
