(AP) - A body found in a wooded area of LongIsland has been identified as that of a 15-year-old boy whodisappeared last month.
Suffolk County police say Eber Lopez of Greenport was reportedmissing on June 8 after attending a party in Southold.
His body was found on June 18 in a wooded area in Farmingville.Police Lt. Jack Fitzpatrick says the boy had been shot.
Investigators believe a group of men with gang affiliationsconfronted the boy at the party. They say the victim was not a gangmember.
Fitzpatrick says a tip led police to the wooded area.
