Congressman Jim Himes visited the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport to talk about the importance of science, technology, engineering, and math for children.
The museum allows kids to interact with science through hands-on programs.
Himes says early exposure to the STEM fields can help children later on.
Himes says, “When a kid gets inspired about a rocket or about a computer or about a new medical discovery, that's a gift to not just, to Connecticut, that's a gift to America, and a gift to the world when a kid invents something, grows up to invent something so really the investment we make in our children through turning them on to science, technology, math, engineering, it’s very very seriously repaid."
