WOODBURY - The countdown to massive federal spending cuts is down to single digits. If lawmakers in Washington don’t make a deal by next Friday, federal workers must take unpaid furloughs and programs like Head Start and senior food programs will suffer.
President Obama wants lawmakers to approve $1.8 trillion in spending cuts and tax hikes.
Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said today the cuts will likely trigger flight delays nationwide and air traffic control tower closures at some small airports.
