GLEN COVE - Kids in Glen Cove learned Thursday that all food doesn't come from the supermarket.

Reese Michaels, a Cornell Cooperative Extension gardener, is showing children square-foot gardening.

"I hope they eat everything we plant in here. We're putting in some edible flowers and herbs. Whatever they would like to grow, we're going to try it," he said.

Michaels says it's important for children to have a garden of their own.
