Cheddar Afternoon Business Update 10/13: T-Mobile and Sprint to merge
The T-Mobile and Sprint merger is a go. Softbank group has reportedly reached an agreement to merge the companies.
The two smaller U.S. mobile carriers combined will have as many subscribers as competitors Verizon and AT&T.
Meanwhile, Twitter may have unintentionally interfered in 2016 election investigation.
According to Politico, the company deleted tweets critical to Russia investigators. Engineers are working to recover some of the data, but the sites ‘permanent deletion’ policy means the information is likely gone for good.
Twitter has previously been criticized for not reporting its discoveries to investigators sooner.
Lastly, Spotify is launching a second application, just for musicians. ‘Spotify for artists’ will give verified users access to real time streaming data and demographic information of listeners.
Users can also update their profiles and tweak page playlists. Spotify already provides features on a desktop, but now artists can access the date on the go.
