BX Veteran's Day Parade on hold due to permit issues
Organizers of the Bronx Veteran?s Day Parade say festivities are on hold because the 45th Precinct did not approve the request for a permit.
The permit was filed for November 4, but police said they will not have enough man power to monitor the parade because the New York City Marathon will be held on the same day.
However, organizers say in the past 24 years the parade has fallen on the same day as the marathon more than a dozen times.
Police say letters will be sent out to participants once the event is rescheduled.
Organizers say they are hopeful a permit for November 18 will be approved.
