A Bronx man learned his fate Tuesday for a vicious 2018 assault that involved his young daughter.
Noel Morales was sentenced to three years in prison with three years of post-supervision for beating his 4-year-old daughter with a baseball bat. Police say Morales conducted the brutal attack at 1145 Morrison Ave.
According to a criminal complaint, Morales confessed to striking his baby girl with an aluminum baseball bat as she played with her toys, telling authorities, "I hit her three times, she never fell when I hit her, she was not crying."
The beating left his young daughter with internal bleeding to the liver and acute bruising to the stomach and back. In court documents, Morales told investigators he snapped and took his frustrations out on his daughter after getting into an argument with the child's mother, who he claimed was constantly putting him down about being out of work.
Morales was initially charged with three counts of assault, criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child. Under a plea bargain, he agreed to plead guilty to one count of assault in the third degree.
Before the judge sentenced Morales, he objected to being photographed by News 12, saying he feared for his safety in jail.
