Body of Sacred Heart University student Kaitlyn Doorhy returns to LI
MATTITUCK - The body of a college student from the East End was brought back home to Long Island on Tuesday.
Kaitlyn Doorhy was killed while crossing a street near the Sacred Heart University campus in Connecticut last week.
Her body arrived on the Port Jefferson Ferry and received a police escort into Mattituck.
The 20-year-old was an organ donor. Many people will be given the gift of life thanks to Doorhy.
The driver who hit her is not facing any charges.
