Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone laid out his plan for the storm Tuesday morning during a press conference in Commack.
Bellone said the county had between 16,000 and 18,000 tons of salt and sand for the storm. In addition, the county pre-treated major roadways.
Bellone said that the storm could affect the Wednesday morning commute.
Bellone also urged Suffolk residents to sign up for the county's "Smart 911" online system. The system allows residents to enter information about their emergency so crews are better equipped to respond.
