A new behavioral health clinic to help children and teens in crisis is opening in Rockville Centre.
Experts say the center will give families quick and easy access to quality mental health treatment.
Madison Gamberg, 16, says she was heartbroken, devastated and confused when two of her friends at South Side High School took their own lives less than a year ago. Gamberg is urging her peers to go to the new center right away if they're in crisis.
The behavioral health center is a partnership between Northwell Health and five South Shore school districts: Rockville Centre, East Rockaway, Oceanside, Freeport and Hewlett-Woodmere.

Each district will pay Northwell $55,000 per year. In exchange, their students will have exclusive access to the facility and its doctors.
In the future, Northwell Health says it hopes other Long Island school districts will join the partnership.
