A teenage baby sitter is accused of trying to drive four kids home from the beach while drunk.
A good Samaritan is credited with stopping 19-year-old Sabrina Macri from driving home drunk from Cedar Beach. Nicole Diaz says she saw Macri stumbling through the parking lot and asked if she needed help. Macri denied needing help and Diaz called police.
Diaz tells News 12 Long Island that she used her minivan to block the exit to the beach until police arrived.
Police arrested Macri and charged her with felony DWI under Leandra's Law because she had the four children in her black Honda Civic.
According to police reports, Macri later told officers, "So what if I had a few drinks, that's what people my age do. You [expletive] loser."
Macri's attorney says his client has no criminal record and that he will be investigating any blood alcohol results police have. Macri's social media accounts appears to show dozens of photos of the teen drinking at bars and wineries. Hours before her arrest, she tweeted "Beach days are the happiest days".
Macri is being held in the Suffolk County Jail on $20,000 bond.
