A local attorney is behind bars because police say he failed to report someone who had stolen six of his guns, one of which was allegedly used in an attempted murder of a Stamford police officer.
The arrest warrant for Ridgely Brown, 72, says he told police he started a sexual relationship with a 30-year-old woman he met at a local strip club. It goes on to say the woman then began visiting his home with a duffel bag, and guns started disappearing.
The warrant also says Brown told police the woman is a Bloods gang member from Bridgeport.
Police say Brown recently told them six of his guns were missing since last year, but that he didn't report it right away.
One of those guns was used by 30-year-old Lawrence Lynwood Moore when he fired at an officer during a drug bust, police say.
"By law you have 72 hours to report firearms stolen if you discover they are either lost or missing," says Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin. "It appears these firearms probably went missing months ago."
Police have seized 19 more of Brown's guns. Brown is being held on $500,000 bond.
