Coronavirus cases on Long Island have climbed to eight, including seven in Nassau County and one in Suffolk.
Nassau Executive Laura Curran confirmed Sunday evening that a seventh case was confirmed in the county involving a 39-year-old female.

Curran said in a tweet that there are new Department of Health guidelines, including that elderly residents and people with respiratory conditions shouldn't attend large public gatherings, and that people who are feeling sick shouldn't visit those same groups.
County Executive Steve Bellone says that Suffolk's sole patient so far is a man in his 40s who is currently hospitalized in isolation. The man's hometown wasn't given and the hospital treating him has not been identified.
"Suffolk County communicable disease professionals have begun a thorough investigation into the patient's contacts as it is believed that this case was contracted via community transmission," Bellone said in a statement. "We are continuing to work closely with the New York state Department of Health to ensure a swift and effective investigation. While we continue to do all that we can to avoid a wide-spread outbreak, we are asking the public to do the same. If you are sick, stay home and contact your primary care physician to avoid spreading any illness to others."

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Sunday that there are at least 105 cases in New York. He visited a lab on Long Island Sunday, at Northwell Health Imaging at the Center for Advanced Medicine in North New Hyde Park.
"The more positive people we find, the  better. The more tests we run, the  better," Cuomo said, adding that positive cases means those infected people can be isolated.
