At Noble Pottery in Brooklyn, a small team churns out hundreds of pieces of dinnerware every week.

Plates, bowls, mugs and platters are all made by hand by veteran potter Wynn Noble at her ceramics shop in the borough. She says she and her team of seven produce around 300 pieces each week, using 500 pounds of clay.

The pieces are sold mostly to restaurants, some as far as Paris, Dubai and Japan, but also to people who just want special dinnerware that they know is handcrafted in Brooklyn.

No two pieces are exactly alike, and the individual brushstrokes can be seen on plates and bowls let people know that they were not machine-made.

Noble says having her job be her passion is a dream come true. She hopes to do more large-scale art works in the future, but also will continue to make functional pieces for everyday use.
