Police say they?ve arrested a man responsible for carrying out two home invasions and an attempted carjacking all within hours of each other in Bellmore Thursday.

The man allegedly broke into a home on Centre Avenue Thursday morning and threatened a teen who was home alone. She says the man cornered her with a crow bar and stole a laptop.

The man then ran across Sunrise Highway to a gas station, where police say he hopped into Bernadette Masiello?s car trying to steal it while she pumped gas. Masiello says her son was in the car at the time.

Soon after, authorities say he broke into the home of a 72-year-old who he allegedly beat. The elderly man is in serious condition.
