American Pharoah draws No. 5 post in Belmont Stakes
The horse looking to make racing history at the Belmont Stakes Saturday learned his post position during a ceremony at Rockefeller Center Wednesday.
American Pharoah will be racing out of the fifth position during his Triple Crown bid.
He will only have seven other horses competing against him, making this year's Belmont Stakes the smallest field since 2007.
A total of 13 horses had a chance to capture the Triple Crown at Belmont since Affirmed accomplished the feat in 1978. All have come up short.
The 147th Running of the Belmont Stakes is scheduled for 6:50 p.m. Saturday.
