A deal in Albany will provide another tax rebate for Long Islanders.

In one of the final acts of state legislators this session, a property tax rebate plan was approved. Homeowners will actually get two rebates next year: the new rebate approved this week and a tax-freeze rebate approved by legislators two years ago.

Under the tax-freeze rebate program, the average homeowner in Nassau and Suffolk has been getting a rebate of about $295. The new rebate will be $130.

A combined check of approximately $425 will be sent to Long Island homeowners in September of next year.
