Members of the Stratford Historical Society say Goody Bassett was one of at least 11 people killed in Connecticut on charges of witchcraft. Activists are now trying to clear those victims' names - and not for the first time.
A Change.org petition calling for the victims to be publicly exonerated has garnered more than 1,200 signatures.
Members of the Connecticut Witch Trial Exoneration Project say past efforts to get a proclamation through the General Assembly failed in 2008 and 2009, but they say this fall will be different.
Stratford Historical Society is planning a gala for May where they say the town, at least, will exonerate Goody Bassett.
