A local advocate is trying to get city agencies to fix a cracked sidewalk in Tremont.
Community activist Sidney Flores has put caution tape all around the corner of 3rd Avenue and East 174th Street to warn pedestrians about what he says is a dangerous break in the walkway.
Flores says he noticed the elevated piece of concrete and metal this past summer, and is getting tired of waiting for the city to repair it. He took matters into his own hands by alerting people in the neighborhood and filing complaints with 311.
There are also schools nearby, including Bronx Elementary School 4, making the issue even more of a concern for kids who walk in the area.
