AAA has released a warning to motorists that the "100 deadliest days for teenaged drivers" have officially begun.
An average of 10 people die as a result of injuries from a crash involving a teen driver on each day of the summer season, according to AAA.
AAA says nearly 60 percent of teen crashes could be attributed to some sort of distraction, which includes talking to a passenger, changing radio stations and cellphone use.
AAA is advising young drivers to keep their hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road.
According to AAA, 30 states and Washington, D.C. have complete wireless device bans for all drivers under the age of 18. New Jersey and Connecticut are among them.
