5 teens hurt in Patchogue school bus crash

Investigators say five teens suffered minor injuries when a dump truck driver drove through a stop sign and hit a mini bus. (February 25, 2013)

PATCHOGUE - Police say five teens were injured during a school bus crash this afternoon in Patchogue.

Police say the incident happened Grove Avenue and Carmen Street at around 3:30 p.m.

According to investigators, a dump truck from All County Block and Supply, in Holbrook, was traveling on Grove Avenue when it drove past a stop sign and struck a mini-bus. 

The five teens in the bus were taken to Brookhaven Hospital and treated for minor injuries. The bus driver and dump truck driver were not injured.

The dump truck driver was cited for disobeying a stop sign and an equipment violation.
