Five of the 14 suspects charged in the case appeared before a judge at the Bronx Hall of Justice. Defendants Elvin Garcia, Antonio Rodriguez Hernandez Santiago, Jose Muniz, Manuel Rivera and Jonaiki Martinez Estrella are each charged with first-degree murder.
The five are each accused of taking turns stabbing 15-year-old Guzman-Feliz to death with knives and machetes outside of a Bronx bodega in June 2018.

Prosecutors allege that Jonaiki Martinez Estrella delivered the fatal blow by cutting Guzman-Feliz's neck.
Monday marked the first day in the pretrial hearing, which had been delayed several times because of publicity surrounding the case.
Supporters of Guzman-Feliz say they will be in court every day to the end until justice is served for Junior.
