41 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Nassau; 1 at assisted living facility

Nassau County Executive Curran announced that there is one positive case of an 81-year-old resident at The Bristal Assisted Living at North Hills.

Nassau County Executive Laura Curran announced during a press conference that there are now 41 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Nassau County.
Officials say 10 of those positive cases are hospitalized, and one person is in critical condition.
A total of 192 people are in mandatory quarantine in Nassau and 82 are in precautionary quarantine.
In addition, Curran announced that there is one positive case of an 81-year-old resident at The Bristal Assisted Living at North Hills.
News 12 is told the woman has been living at the facility since September and has been a hospice patient since January. The woman was taken to a hospital Monday for a cough and runny nose and tested positive for coronavirus.
The facility's administration says it's doing everything it can to protect residents and staff.
News 12 has learned that Bristal facility is banning all visitation at all of its 15 Long Island properties in the interest of public health.
Meanwhile, Suffolk County has reported a total of 21 confirmed cases.
There are more than 300 cases statewide.
Globally, there are now more than 126,000 cases and more than 4,600 deaths.
The World Health Organization officially classified the outbreak a global pandemic.
