4 Stop & Shops to close on Long Island

The “underperforming” stores are located in Greenvale, Coram, Hempstead and East Meadow.

Four Stop & Shops will be closing on Long Island on or before Nov. 2, the grocery chain announced.
The “underperforming” stores are located in Greenvale, Coram, Hempstead and East Meadow.
Stop & Shop released a statement, which reads in part: “Following the closures, Stop & Shop will continue to have a strong presence across its five-state footprint with more than 350 stores. Stop & Shop associates at impacted locations will be offered other opportunities within the company.”
A total of 32 Stop & Shops will close, including 10 in New Jersey, seven in New York (three outside of Long Island), five in Connecticut, eight in Massachusetts and two in Rhode Island.
