3rd Ave. BID targets opioid crisis in South Bronx

The Third Avenue BID in the South Bronx is working to combat the opioid epidemic.
BID Executive Director Michael Brady says their offices overlook Roberto Clemente Plaza, where he says a lot of people go to use drugs.
He says everyone at the BID knows how to use Narcan – an antidote that quickly reverses opioid overdoses.
"One-hundred percent of our staff are trained in administering Narcan through our partnership with the [Department of Health],” says Brady. “We're working towards having 100 percent of the businesses on Third Avenue trained as well."
So far, 25 businesses are on board.
The BID is involved in various organizations whose purpose is to find the root of addiction.
