A 21-year-old man in Monroe nearly drowned in a pool over the weekend, according to village police.

Authorities say they responded to a call for help Saturday night around 7:37 p.m. after the victim was pulled from the water in the backyard of home on Lues Drive.

The victim was breathing and semi-conscious when paramedics arrived and was taken to a nearby hospital, according to police.

As of Tuesday, the man's condition is unknown.
